The Digital Bakery is on the lookout for a Lead Product UX/UI Designer to join a tight-knit digital team located in central Auckland. The role requires a design practitioner who hails from a strong visual and interaction design background, as well as proven ability to liaise with stakeholders from the introduction and discovery stages. Working closely with fellow designers and product team members, you’ll transform digital ideas into stunning and functional designs for both web and mobile apps.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Create and facilitate discovery sessions and workshops to uncover insight and define project direction   
  • Self-assured, and able to ask questions and challenge accordingly to shape the right design (A good dollop of commercial nous)
  • Translate requirements and adopt a design strategy that delivers aesthetically appealing solutions that exceed briefs and objectives
  • Contribute to planning, resourcing and ensure approaches are is fit for purpose, including project work in progress
  • Communicate design choices clearly and effectively to both the team members and stakeholders
  • Uphold and elevate design best practice
  • Collaborate with product owners, designers, and developers
  • Get on the tools, deliver UI designs, wireframes, mock-ups, and working prototypes
  • Test, refine and provide feedback on prototypes
 
Required Skills & Key Ingredients:
  • Extensive end to end UX/UI design in digital product
  • User-centric mindset and a passion for what drives great experiences
  • Ability to transform research insights into actionable design strategies
  • Solid experience in stakeholder engagement and business interactions 
  • Proficiency with industry tools, especially Figma. Experience with Webflow is a plus
  • An impressive design portfolio (This one’s a must!)
