Fail-proof Pizza Dough Recipe

I thoroughly enjoyed making pizza dough during lockdown and thought, why not share it!

Ingredients:

4 cups of flour

1 ½ Cups of water
(warm)

¼ cup of olive oil

1 teaspoon of salt

2 teaspoons of dried
yeast

1 teaspoon of garlic

Pinch of caster sugar

A good pinch or two
of mixed Italian herbs

Method

Step one:

Grab the warm water, yeast, sugar and throw it into a bowl. Give it a good stir and set aside for 10 to 15 minutes or until its cloudy and foamy. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt and make a crater in the middle. My tip, if you’re into it, is to add some garlic and mixed Italian herbs. Bellissimo! Then pour the foamy yeast water and oil into the crater. Give it a good mix with a spatula then your hands to help bind the dough.

Step two:

Put the dough onto a lightly floured bench (ideally) and knead for a good 10 minutes. It should eventually go stretchy and elastic. Once you’re happy with the dough, roll into a ball and place in a bowl that’s been rubbed with some oil. Cover with some plastic wrap and leave it out on the bench until your dough doubles in size.

Step three:

Once doubled in size, grab your dough, knead again and roll into a long "snake" then split into three sections. Use your rolling pin (or a wine bottle) to roll them out and put your toppings on!

Step four:

ENJOY and accompany with a nice red wine!
